Guide to Kratom Strains
A brief guide to understanding the differences in strains of kratom.
Kratom Leaves and Veins
Mitragyna Speciosa, is a tree which produces large, broad shaped leaves that are dried, crushed, and consumed, smoked, or chewed. Kratom leaves grow on these evergreen trees in Southeast Asia. Kratom strains are identified by the vein which runs through the center of the leaf which can be either green, white, or red. Each color of vein produces different effects.

White Vein Kratom is commonly used for energy, focus, and creative flow. This strain provides a push of clean energy similar to that of coffee, although longer lasting. Some people use this strain for pre-work out. People like to use this before the gym or for intense activities like hiking, biking, skiing, etc.
Kratom Veins
Every strain has a slightly different chemical composition and react differently in the body. While some strains are more sedative in nature, others are meant to increase energy or lift your mood. So choosing the strain for you is completely based on your motivation for taking it and the situation at hand.
The vein is the central line or the main vein or ‘midrib’ of the leaf. In most leaves you see, it’s going to be green. That vein (along with the other veins through the leaf) help to position the leaf so it is facing a light source. In kratom leaves, the midrib vein can be the determining factor in the effect it produces.
